Books for Kids in Kenya
Club member and past president Lynn Diveley recently returned from Kenya. She sent the following thank you note to the Club.
"I wanted to again thank the club for purchasing books for the widow's children in Kenya - they were overjoyed and immediately started reading. We also took some books to an orphanage for their library and to a school and in each place they were overjoyed to receive the gift. Attached are two pictures. One is of the widow's kids and the other is a young girl at the orphanage who grabbed hold and started reading. Just a bit later I saw her reading to one of the younger kids. Through this contribution our club has made a wonderful gift to these children who might not otherwise have a book to read. Thank you!!!"

Shoes to Support Widows in Kenya
Club past president Lynn Diveley will be reporting to the Club about the impact of the Club's Kenya Shoe Project and showing pictures of the land that has been given from the shoe proceeds so far and the widow's compound that is developing. It was wonderful for her to see where they lived previously versus where they are now and to see gardens beginning to bear a crop! It may not look like much to American's but it is everything in the world to these widow's and they are so thankful....so keep those shoes coming!
